The American Football Conference after Week 18, final. Division champions: Patriots, Steelers, Jaguars and Broncos. Top seed: Broncos. The four division tables come
first, then all 16 AFC teams in seeding order with conference records.
The National Football Conference after Week 18, final. Division champions: Eagles, Bears, Panthers and Seahawks. Top seed: Seahawks. The four division tables come
first, then all 16 NFC teams in seeding order with conference records.
Teams with the same record are ordered by the NFL's tie-breaking procedure, applied to the season's
scores. Within a division the steps are: head-to-head record among the tied teams, division record,
record in common games, conference record, strength of victory, strength of schedule, then rankings in
points scored and allowed and net points. For seeding, which compares teams from different divisions
(only the highest-ranked team of each division takes part), head-to-head counts only between two teams
that met or when one team beat or lost to all the others; then come conference record, common games
(at least four), strength of victory, strength of schedule and the points steps. When a step separates
some teams but leaves others still level, the procedure starts again for those teams. Each card above
lists the step that decided its ties (11 in all). Every tie this season was settled by one of these steps; none needed net touchdowns or a coin toss.
How these standings are built: every record comes from the public
nflverse game log (the copy this site serves
is games.csv), and the order comes from the tie-breaking steps above, computed
from the scores. On October 13, 2026 every team's record, points and division record matched ESPN's standings. ESPN's division order and seeds 1-16 in each conference matched the order
computed here as well; the page is only rewritten when they agree. PCT counts a tie as half a win, NET is
points for minus points against, DIV is the record in division games, CONF the record in conference games,
and SEED the playoff seed (1-7). The team lines, seeds, tie-break steps and every game behind them are in
